The purpose of the Open Call is to attract and engage Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), small consortia, and R&D organizations from EU and associated non-EU countries that operate in the field of materials for building envelopes and are developing innovative concepts, including new materials, components, and technologies.
As a key instrument of the iclimabuilt Test Bed, the Open Call contributes to defining the service portfolio and shaping the business plan and pricing model of the iclimabuilt ecosystem. It plays a vital role in validating the project’s established service offerings while also expanding awareness and visibility of the ecosystem. Additionally, it allows for the refinement and optimization of the service portfolio, ensuring that iclimabuilt remains aligned with industry needs and continues to foster collaboration and innovation in sustainable building materials.
Open Call Winning Proposals
iclimabuilt has selected eight innovative projects through its Open Call, each contributing to sustainable construction and energy efficiency. These projects leverage advanced materials, smart systems, and circular economy principles to push the boundaries of building technology. These projects contribute to energy efficiency, circularity, and improved environmental performance.
Each winning proposal brings unique expertise and cutting-edge technologies, supported by iclimabuilt’s network of services, facilities, and experts
ASSEMBLEND develops ultra-lightweight cellular concrete and geopolymer-based foams to create high-performance sandwich panels for building facades, by combining Ultra-Lightweight Cellular Concrete (ULWCC) and Geopolymer-based Foams (GPF). These panels aim to reduce material usage, while enhancing durability, improve thermal efficiency, and support circular construction. The project aims to validate industrial scalability while maintaining structural integrity and energy efficiency
